All relevant information should be provided to any of the following:
It is now over 18 months since 24-year-old Jack O’Sullivan went missing on March 2nd 2024, following a night out in Hotwells, Bristol.
Jack, having attempted to get a taxi home, was last seen on CCTV on the morning of March 2nd at approx. 3:40 am walking up the Bennett Way slip road heading back towards Hotwells.
Jack’s phone was still active and placed him at an address at 5:40 am in the Granby Hill area.
His phone continued to be live on the network until 6:44 am.
Nothing has been seen or heard of Jack since the early hours of that morning.
Despite the authorities efforts, the investigation has hit a standstill, leaving his family desperate for answers.
There were over 400 vehicles passing through the area during that time that Jack was walking and we urge any cars, lorries, vans, taxis or buses that might have dashcam footage to come forward.
We also urge residents local to the area in which Jack was last seen to check household security cameras and doorbells for footage of Jack passing by.
If you have any any footage corresponding with the period that Jack was in the area, please report this to the Police by calling 101 and provide the reference number 5224055172.
Until Jack is found we must keep his story in the public eye, please help us do this by talking to friends and continuing to share our social media links, this website and new articles about his disappearance.

Jack’s last confirmed sighting was at 3:39 am walking up Bennett Way slip road. This took many weeks to be confirmed, as this was CCTV that was initially missed by the Police.
Change to Jack’s Phone has NOT been found – Its “Find my Phone” location placed it at an address on Granby Hill at 5:40am, but the Police said this could not be relied upon to be accurate. The phone remained on the network until 6:44am.
Unfortunately, as so much time had passed before the police realised where Jack was last seen, it wasn’t possible to obtain dashcam footage and other CCTV. Our own team did everything they could to try and retrieve anything that might have been of relevance.
The police have told us that some of the area has been searched but they were not prepared to provide any details. Because of this, we used a professional search and rescue dog team who carried out extensive searches of the entire area of Hotwells, The Cumberland Basin, The Portway, Ashton Court and Leigh Woods area. Also, the route towards Flax Bourton where Jack lives.
We did this ourselves as the Police refused to do this as they said “It was outside their search parameter”
We were told by the Police this was done. We cannot confirm it.
The Police have stated they have spoken to 100’s of taxi drivers. This is NOT true. Several taxi firms were contacted and asked to put the message out to their drivers. This was not done very effectively as many months after Jack went missing, many Taxi drivers we spoke to were still not aware of Jack.
Yes, they have been very involved from the start. They have been extremely helpful, providing all relevant information surrounding the Harbour, the tidal Information that relates to the River Avon and Cumberland Basin and sharing all their CCTV.
What we can say with as much certainty as possible is that the police formed an opinion (based on an assumption), that Jack had fallen into the lock or the river. This being the case, extensive searches then began around the river that included police divers, helicopters, drone searches, draining of the basin, alerting the coast guard and reviewing everything by an oceanographer. Searches were carried out as far as Avonmouth in one direction and Temple Meads in the other direction. To date, nothing has been found relating to Jack or any of his possessions in or around the water.
The Family have since had the help from an extremely experienced ex-Harbourmaster who has worked specifically in and around The Cumberland Basin. He has researched the details from the 2/3/24 which include the weather conditions, tidal times, lock gate openings and all water traffic along with many other details which would provide detailed information to give some clarity into the likelihood that Jack could have fallen into the river (as the police suggest) and the findings based on all the considered information is that it would not be possible for Jack to have entered the water and not have been found!
